How long before a hibiscus plant becomes a tree?

What variety? Some are only bushes or shrubs.

well alot of hibiscus are only shrub type or bush type i have a braided hibiscus but doesnt get tree like gets more wide than tall i also have a very twiggy tree like 1 but is real thin so actually im not real sure sorry.
Reply:it depends in which planting zone. but usually after 5 yrs or so it should at least triple in size.. I live in planting zone 9 Central Fla. had hibiscus thriving in zone 10.
